The Memorial to the battle of the Marne was built in 1921 at a site selected by field marshall Foch, to commemorate the two batlles of the Marne.
The memorial consists of a crypt, a large chapel with special stained- glass windows, a cloister leading to an ossuary containing the remains of 1500 unknown soldiers.
From the surrounding walkway, accessible via a stairway of approximately one hundred steps, you have a fantastic view across the entire Marne valley.
