Opposite Villers sous Châtillon, across the valley, stands the little village of Châtillon sur Marne with its colossal statue for Pope Urban II.

It was erected in 1887. At a height of 25 metres, it is the ideal view point for the entire valley and the twenty-two surrounding villages!

Pope Urban II, ( known as Eûdes de Châtillon in his ordinary life ) launched the first crusade to Jerusalem in 1095.
